Tour of the American Antiquarian Society

Time: Thursday, May 14th, 3:00 p.m.
Place: American Antiquarian Society, 185 Salisbury Street, Worcester

The tour lasts about one hour. The American Antiquarian Society's library contains 20 miles of shelves that hold over three million items including: books, pamphlets, broadsides, newspapers, periodicals, sheet music, and graphic materials. The collection contains two out of three of the total books known to have been printed in what is now the United States from the establishment of the first press in 1640 to 1820. Conference Social Hour

Time: Friday, May 15th, 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., following the conference
Place: Hogan Center, Ballroom, College of the Holy Cross

Please come socialize with your colleagues and meet the conference speakers. This will be a unique opportunity to talk with the outstanding roster of conference speakers we have lined up for this year's conference. You will also have the chance to catch up with old friends and colleagues as well as meet new ones. We hope to make this an annual event. So, come, enjoy, and help make this social hour a success!

The Hollywood Librarian

Time: Friday, May 15th, 6:00 p.m. hors d'oeuvres ~ 7:00 p.m. movie
Place: Hogan Center, College of the Holy Cross

The Central Massachusetts Regional Library System has Friends who like to have fun. The Friends of CMRLS is alive and well and is planning a special event. On May 15, the Friends group is showing the documentary film The Hollywood Librarian at Holy Cross College. For $30, you can munch on hors d’oeuvres, have a free drink, become a member of the Friends for one year, chat with library lovers, and see a good movie. What else can you ask for? There may even be popcorn!
